What I See When I Close My Eyes Sunday Night

I love this song and this video...please to enjoy "Frontier Psychiatrist" by The Avalanches.

    King...Partyman? The Hell?

How have I never seen this video before? "Batdance," sure, I'm familiar with "Batdance." But "Partyman" by Prince for 1989's Batman? Hooooooly crap. I actually really like this song and as a youth was obsessed with whether or not Prince says "the funkiest man" or "the fuckingest man." I know the latter choice doesn't make sense, but profanity is a mystery in the magical eyes of a child.

Goonies the Musical, Part 4: Piano Lessons

Here's another video for the musical I've created with my collaborator, Keith Doughty, based on The Goonies.  We got mentions in /Film, Topless Robot, JoBlo.com, Cinematical, FilmDrunk, The Nerdist, Fandango, HeyUGuys!, IMDB - so that's awesome.  Here's one of the videos, for "Piano Lessons."  Lyrics and a recap of background info on the project after the jump!

    Insomniac Theatre - January 19, 2010

I frequently can't sleep.  So in those moments, I'll come on to this site and post whatever I happen to have stumbled upon in the wee hours of the morning/night.

Tonight's entertainment comes from the zeitgeist viral band OK Go for their song "This Too Shall Pass."

They always make great videos...I just wish the songs were a bit better, though lord knows they're pretty dang catchy.

Goonies the Musical, Part 2 - Tubes!

Here's one of the videos, for "Tubes."  Lyrics and a repeat of background info on the project after the jump!

Saturday Morning Cartoons - It Means "Cigarette" In This Context

A brilliant fan took the whacky and whacktastic Star Trek cartoons and placed Shatner's version of "Common People" over it.

It should be pointed out that this is a video with a clear Slash Fiction approach, and if you don't know what that is...well go google it and report to me about the results.

    Goonies the Musical! (Part 1)

Sorry I've been away, my nonexistent audience.  I've been trying to pimp out a new group of videos I've created with my collaborator, Keith Doughty, based on The Goonies.  We got mentions in /Film, Topless Robot, JoBlo.com, Cinematical, FilmDrunk - so that's awesome.  Here's one of the videos, for Sloth's Song, below along with some background info:

In 2001, my college buddy, Keith Doughty, and I began working on a musical based on the seminal 80s film The Goonies.  I had been raised on that film, quoting from pre-adolescence onward.  I identified with the asthmatic protagonist who didn't fit in with others, especially his older sibling.

I was watching it for probably the thousandth time during one vacation, when the scene where Mikey is alone on the porch comes on and with it came inspiration.
