Rob Dean in Bill Clinton, Cracked.com, Futurama, Matt Taibbi, Michele Bachmann, My Little Pony, New York, Pixar, Rocketeer, SpaceCamp, Street Fighter, Terminator, Zelda Convention
Just like the old man in that book by Nabokov...
When You Stare at the Abyss, Sometimes the Abyss Shrinks Away: I'm kind of getting scared of Bachmann. Not that I think she'll get the nomination (maybe on the ticket, but frontrunner? I think not). But it's that defiance of reality, the facts and science. with the blank stare and the security that comes from being BFF with 'God' that really terrifies me. Matt Taibbi explains why my fears are grounded. Bachmann is one of the few people who, if elected President, would have me eyeing Canada nervously. Also on the list? Philly Phanatic - notable Holocaust denier.
This Burger Tastes Like...the Promise of a Better Tomorrow: Reward New York's rightful decision to legalize marriage equality by visiting the state and spending money there. Pixar versions of Nazis and Jennifer Connelly's Bosom? Yes Please: This is a pretty cool animated short of The Rocketeer in the style of Pixar. (Via /Film)
I Don't Agree With What You List, Sir, But I'll Defend to the Death Your Right to List It!: This is a semi-dubious list of 10 best Futurama episodes. I get that the writer draws a distinction between best and funniest - but even so, I'm not sure about this. Let the nerdy conversation...COMMENCE!
You Know What? Eff It, Matrix Reloaded was Good - Y'all Can Suck It!:5 fan theories about movies that turned out to be better than the movies' resolutions. Despite my love of Matrix Reloaded, I think this is a fairly interesting list. Especially because Neville Longbottom really was the badass of the Harry Potter series, who suffered in silence but defied an empire without all the pomp and poetry that accompanied the main trio of starfuckers.
"Kate Capshaw's Career? Come with me if you want to fade into obscurity!": Pretty brilliant mash-up trailer for The Terminator and forgotten 80s "gem" SpaceCamp:
